Privacy Notice for Marketing Activity
This Privacy Notice describes how Disrupt Insight as a data controller collects, uses and discloses information with respect to our marketing activity, and what choices you have regarding this. We take every reasonable precaution to ensure the privacy and security of your information.
To enable us to fulfil our marketing activity we may ask to collect standard information about you such as your name, email address, telephone number, job title, name of organisation.
Why we process your data
We may process your data for a number of different purposes:
- To keep you up to date with the latest, relevant products we are offering;
- To keep you up to date with the latest, relevant content we’ve published;
- To keep you up to date and invite you to any of our latest, relevant events or webinars;
- To administer any event delegate bookings you’ve bought from us;
Our lawful basis for processing your data
It is necessary for us and in our legitimate business interest to:
- Keep clients and other contacts informed of our latest content, products and services;
- Use a variety of direct marketing channels and messages to ensure our contacts are kept informed;
- Collect personal data that helps us keep our content targeted and relevant.
We store and process your information within the UK, the European Economic Area (EEA) and the USA.
We only work with companies outside of the EEA which we have determined have an adequate level of data protection to help ensure your rights and protections.
We are required by law to keep your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which we are using it. The period for which we keep your personal data will be determined by a number of criteria, including the purposes for which we are using the information, the amount and sensitivity of the information, the potential risk from any unauthorised use or disclosure of the information, and our legal and regulatory obligations. Transfers outside of the EEA and UK
Where information is transferred outside the EEA and UK, and where this is to a stakeholder or vendor in a country that is not subject to an adequacy decision by the EU Commission or under the UK government adequacy regulations or considered adequate as determined by applicable data protection laws, we take steps to ensure your personal data is adequately protected. This includes using the EU Commission approved standard contractual clauses, the UK Information Commissioner approved standard contractual clauses or a vendor’s Processor Binding Corporate Rules.

What are cookies?
A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are created when your browser loads a particular website. What cookies do we use and what information to they collect?

They allow us to measure how visitors interact with the Services and we use this information to improve the user experience and performance of our website and the Services. o Social media cookies: These cookies may be used when you share information using a social media sharing button or “like” button on our Platforms, or when you engage with our content on or through a social site such as LinkedIn or Facebook. These cookies collect information about your social media interaction with the website, such as whether or not you have an account with the social media site and whether you are logged into it when you interact with content on website. This information may be linked to targeting/advertising activities.
By default, we will only place non-essential cookies on your device if you opt in. When you first visit our site, you will see a cookie banner prompting you to accept or reject these non-essential cookies. You can also disable cookies via your browser settings.
Google Analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses cookies, to help the Web Site analyse how users use the Site. The information generated by the cookie about a user’s use of the Site (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating the user’s use of the Web Site, compiling reports on Site activity for web site operators and providing other services relating to web site activity and internet usage. We use third-party providers, such as SendPulse, to send our email campaigns. These services may employ cookies, web beacons (tracking pixels), and similar technologies within the emails sent on our behalf. Specifically, these technologies help us:

- See if links within the email have been clicked; and

Why We Collect This Information

Artificial Intelligence
We may use AI-based tools to help us segment and personalise marketing communications. These tools analyse certain information—such as your name, company name, email address, and publicly available details from your LinkedIn profile to:
- Group contacts by industry, role, or expressed interests;
- Tailor our messages so that the content is more relevant to you (for example, sending you news or offers related to your profession or industry).
This kind of data analysis is automated but does not produce any legal or similarly significant effects on you; it’s simply used to improve and customize our marketing materials. Our lawful basis for this type of processing is typically legitimate interests, as it helps us provide more useful, targeted communications without unduly affecting your rights or freedoms. You’re in control
You can update your contact preferences or unsubscribe from any contact from us at any time. You’ll find the unsubscribe link in any email from Disrupt. Alternatively, you can email us at dpo@disrupt-insight.com to request your information is removed.
You have the right under the Data Protection Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation to access any information held about you. You also have the right to the following:
- Object to processing of your data;
- To port data (if automated data collection);
- To erasure of any personal data made public;
- To restrict processing;
- To rectify data held

Please be aware we may need to retain your information on our files to resolve disputes, enforce our user agreement, or for technical and legal requirements and constraints related to the security, integrity and operation of our surveys.
We will only collect and use personal information in accordance with this policy to the extent deemed reasonably necessary to serve our legitimate business purposes, and we will maintain appropriate safeguards to ensure the security, integrity, accuracy and privacy of the information you have provided.
In addition, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that third parties to whom we transfer any personal information provide sufficient protection of that information.
Disrupt has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Only certain employees have access to the information you provide us and are only granted access for legitimate business purposes.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the way your data has been handled by Disrupt Insight with the Information Commissioners Office (https://ico.org.uk)
